Marina del Rey Auto Repair

Wow! This place is top notch. I called the day before and talked to Kevin. He ordered me new tires and said it would take about 2 hours to get all 4 tires on with alignment as well. Their location is great since it is so close to stores while you wait. He did it right under 2 hours and I was so happy. I also priced compared with 2 other locations and they were well under the price.

Thieves and thugs. Along with damaging the car (spilling oil on the leather console and interior, which I could not clean off), they changed $100 for a 30 second check where they couldn't even tell why the engine light was on, argued with me over the 10% AAA discount, and didn't do the other checks I requested beforehand. When I mentioned the oil they'd spilled on the interior leather, they sent a worker in to clean it off with Formula 405, which badly damaged the leather (and didn't even get the oil off). When they also tried to overcharge me for the oil change, one worker tried to tell me that the exact same cars might need different amounts of oil - for an oil change? It's 2 gallons for my car, period. When I said "come on, you can't be serious" he leaned in about an inch from my face (I'm a small woman, he was a large young guy) and said "are you calling me a liar, i don't like that" in a low quiet threatening voice. With his scars and tattoos I wondered if he'd knife me right there. Anyway, they didn't do what they said they would do, overcharged me, were rude - from the 2 old guys who check you in and have you pay to the workers - and they don't do the work they say they'll do.

I get my oil checked regularly at full-service gas stations and I made the biggest mistake of my life by using Villa Marina. The attendant overfilled my oil and my car ended up in the shop costing about 3,500.00 of damage from oil overflowing all over the inside of my car. The manager at Villa Marina was not terribly friendly but he did take my calls and call the insurance company after about a week of looking for my receipt and considering the problem. The insurance company did take care of the expenses after about another week of research. There was never any apology from anyone involved in this insane mistake. It's such a shame that nobody in America can take responsibility for a problem since we are a litigious society. I had to have my car towed multiple times, rented cars and deal with multiple people for three weeks. I put a lot of my own personal time in because I trusted a company who is hired to do simple things, like check oil. It would have hurt a lot less if someone could have shown an ounce of support. Of course I will be checking my own oil from now on.

Go to Shell, a few blocks south. Day and night service. I couldn't believe how direct and honest the whole process was. At the 76 joint I was talked down to when I came in for a smog check. The 76 guy was up-selling me before he even looked at the mileage and the condition of the vehicle. "We can't do a smog check if you need other work." Really? Go to Shell.

Thanks for fixing my car. They work fast. They come with AAA recommendation. Scott was very professional. Why not a 5 star recommendation? They are a bit on the pricey side.

This place is a total rip off. I'm a chick and have been feeling ripped off for awhile now because every time I go for a repair the bill is no less than $700. I took it in a few weeks ago to have them fix a sound and a right front wheel bearing. Unfortunately the car wasn't making the sound so they couldn't diagnose that (understandable); however, they quoted me over $800 to replace one wheel bearing. I told them I would wait until I figured out the other noise and space out my expenses. Well . . . on the advice of a friend I took my car to a different place and guess what!!!! $178 to replace my wheel bearing. That's a HUGE difference and it is just plain unacceptable that they rip people off so badly. Stay far far away.

Took my Mini Cooper to Villa Marina 76 to diagnosis a water loss issue. I was pretty hesitant since I though Mini's needed specialty service (previously only went to specialty shops and the dealer). Anyways, I dropped off my car, and got a courtesy ride to work which was cool. 2 hours later they had properly diagnosed the leak, and quoted me for the repair over the phone, which I approved. My water pump was leaking, which is frustrating, since the dealer installed one exactly 1 year and 1 month ago (unfortunately out of the 12-month warranty). This means my car will be getting the 3rd water pump in less than 43,000 miles. Epic Fail on Mini's part. I asked them to save the part so I could take it up with the dealer which they did. Total cost was $500 less than the dealer, using factory parts, plus it was done same days. Sorry couldn't be more interesting, just an overall great experience.

I love this place. I take my car to get serviced here every six months. They are very honest and on the average about half the cost of the dealership. They even wash my car after the tuneup!! They r the best .

Full service yes please! These guys are great when your lights come on and you are getting on the FWY to go on a trip. Air in tires, check. Fill fluids, check. Wash windows, check. Don't forget to tip.

This is possibly the best gas station I have ever been to. The guys that work there are super friendly and genuinely nice. They make conversation with you and ask you if you need anything, even when you're on the self-serve side (and I never felt like they were trying to pressure me, they were just being friendly!). I heard one of the guys telling another customer that they like to come over and check to see there is anyone that needs help getting gas on the self-serve side (like for older or disabled people). Also, this 76 station has the best gas station squeegees I have ever used. The squeegees are in great condition, and the squeegee water is super concentrated with cleaning fluid.. almost too much! It's great. My windows have never been so clean. This gas station is pretty convenient to the 90 freeway, but in a sort of awkward place - I have a love-hate relationship with getting in there since there are limited pumps. If you ever wanted to try out a full-service station, this is one of the few places that has a full service side. Highly recommended!
