OMFG!!! My car runs again and stopped stalling!!! Back around 2003, I was driving a 1995 Eagle Talon. [A what? What the hell is an Eagle Talon? Basically, Eagle is a part of the Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/etc. group and the Talon was the a re-badged Mitsubishi Eclipse.] I loved that car, it was cool [what can I say, my 1st car was a Chevrolet Celebrity station wagon]. But, it kept on stalling and the engine would constantly die when I came to a complete stop. So, to prevent the stall, I would slow down really far away and tap the gas once in a while to keep the engine revving a bit. I took my Talon/Eclipse to several mechanics, but none of them were able to fix it [actually, they said that they fixed it and then it would start dying and stalling again]. One day, sometime in 2003, my Talon/Eclipse dies at the Howard Hughes Promenade. Damn, what to do, what to do. So, I call 411 and try to get the name of a local mechanic in the area to tow my car. BEWARE, RANT BELOW: [Ok, why isn't the 411 service able to search by types of services, instead of by name only? I call 411 asking for an auto mechanic, and the operator asks, "What is the name of the mechanic you're looking?" I tell her that I'm looking for a mechanic in the area cause my car died, and so don't know the name of any mechanics in the area. She then tells me, "Sorry, we can only search by name." So, she does a search for "auto" in the area and then starts giving me the name of "automobile dealerships" in the area. Ok, that is not very helpful. I need a mechanic. Finally, she gives me the name for a towing company. Damn, that took way longer then it should have.] RANT ENDED: The mechanic takes a look at my car and keeps it overnight. I come back later and pick up my car. He tells me he fixed it and I think, "Yeah, yeah, that's what they all say." SURPRISE!!! My car stopped stalling and stopped dying!!! My car is actually fixed and I no longer have to tap the gas to keep the RPM's up to prevent the stalling. WOOHOO!!! Ok, but all good things must come to an end, and so did my car. For about another 3 years, my car kept on going without any problems, until it finally died in 2006. But hey, can't complain, right? My Talon/Eclipse ran for 11 years (1995-2006) and had over 200,000 miles on it.

These guys are just as bad as any other service station. I bring my car in for a few basic maintenance issues - oil change, tire rotation, and they end up trying to sell me $1,000 worth of service! Including a few that sound like TOTAL b.s. ($15 to clean the battery terminals and put some special solution on them? Hello it's called wiping it down with a rag). I am not getting hosed by these guys again. The common things seem to cost more, $40 for an oil change, $50 to rotate the tires - my old station back East would do the oil change and tire rotation for $30 combined! $55 for a smog check. Not going here again, the other yelp reviews really misled me.

Pleasant service, super efficient, and attentive. This is the ONLY service station about which I can say all three. They genuinely want you to be safe and happy. Bless them.

Super polite and efficient. I went there for a smog check and the car was ready at the time promised and it passed! Dan is a pleasure to work with.

I could count the number of times with one hand I actually had to pump my own gas here (at a self-serve pump). These guys are great. They are the also the first to tell you they think your tires have low air. And I completely appreciate that because I am extremely car - maintenance ignorant. I make sure they are well tipped... they derserve it and they hustle! I used to get my car maintenance done here before my new car that includes service @ the dealership and they always quoted me earnestly... I didn't feel like a clueless girl being ripped off by the mechanic. Good job, guys! Thank you!

Like others who've reviewed this place, I really like how straightforward these guys are. My wife and I both have really high-mileage cars that we're trying to keep alive as long as possible, so we go here a lot. A couple of times, we've had mysterious problems, and when they couldn't reproduce the problem, THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US. Not even the usual diagnostic fee. I've driven cheap, sometimes crappy cars all my life, so even though I still don't know anything about cars, I've been to a lot of mechanics, especially here in LA, and I've settled down with these guys because I trust 'em, and that's saying a lot when it comes to auto mechanics!

We have sent several people to the 76 station for emergency service. Each time they have been very helpful, done the work, and don't seem to be overcharging (I'm not a mechanic). I took in my 92 SC400 Lexus with over 200,000 miles. This was after I had 2 Lexus dealers service my car (Beverly Hills and Santa Monica). After spending a lot of money to get lots of "things fixed" in an old car (it has always run extremely well before they got it) my car began to die and run rough. After taking it back to Lexus about 6-7 times they were unable to find the problem. I finally got frustrated enought to take the car to the 76 station. In short order they found the problem ( I believe a throttle issue). Dan, my service guy, said he felt they could clear things up and I wouldn't need a new part. It was ready the same day and it has run like it always did before the dealers got ahold of it. Needless to say they will be servicing my car in the future. They would also get my newer lexus if it wasn't under warranty. By the way, we try to get our gas from them as their prices are resonable and they even have someone that will check under the hood at the self service pump. So far ALL GOOD

Car trouble makes me nervous. Not only because of the obvious, but because I'm a girl and I don't no nothin about cars. I get nervous that I'll get ripped off....not only money wise, but quality wise. When my car was not working recently, AAA towed it to this location. And shockingly, I was impressed! I got the feeling that they were looking out for me....which might be BS....but I didn't get that vibe. They fixed it in a jiffy, talked me though the process and even called the next week to check up on how it was running! So, when my car was having trouble again (in an un-related issue), I took it straight to this place. Once again they took care of me and even checked out some other stuff in my car. Yesterday I got a call again from them making sure things were good! For all I know, you might be able to find cheaper service, but it was reasonable to me....and they are nice. If you car breaks down....this is not a sketchy option.
